Ephemera. Autographed Cairo to Malta letter from Lord Kitchener (Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener, 1850-1916) on embossed British Government letterhead, addressed to Maltese nobleman Gio Carlo Mallia Tabone and dated February 26th, 1913. Letter is typed and hand-signed 'Kitchener'. It concerns the purchase of a portrait of 'Grand Master Pinto' - Manuel Pinto da Fonseca, a Grand Master of the Order of Saint John, of which Kitchener was a member. Quarto (24cm x 19cm), 1p, with tiny losses along mailing folds, but otherwise in fine condition. (See photo) (R)
