Railway. A box of approx. 420, black and white prints and postcards, featuring ex-Southern Railway stations, locos, rolling stock and infrastructure. The prints were assembled by the late Rev. Peter W. Boulding who passed away in 1979. Peter amassed a large collection of items of transport interest and these are from that collection. They are from a variety of sources including: Pamlin Prints, H.J. Patterson Rutherford, Photomatic Ltd etc. There are approx. 100 prints of the Central (Brighton) section of the Southern Region of B.R., the Southern railway and its pre-grouping predecessor the LBSCR. Plus approx. 125 prints of the Eastern section of the Southern Region of B.R. and its predecessor the Southern railway and pre-grouping predecessor the SECR. Plus approx. 94 prints on the former SECR lines of the Southern Railway some dating back to SECR days. Plus approx. 65 prints mostly on LSWR lines in Hampshire & Dorset. Plus approx. 37 prints on the Old Lynton & Barnstaple Railway in North Devon dating back to the early years of the line. Approx. two thirds have minor captions. No copyright. Sample illustrated.
