An Edward VII 1897 pattern infantry officer's 'picquet' sword with leather scabbard - 5" shagreen grip, 32 ¼"  blade (approx. ¾" at the shoulder) etched with the badge and battle honours of the Northumberland Fusiliers. Provenance - Col. Albert Edward Jacob Wilson DSO (1879-1954), gazetted in 1899 and served through the Boer and First Wars.

Condition: Badly corroded blade. The scabbard with collar-type locket and the chape replaced with leather. The guard and grip in good condition and with sword-knot.
