A Spanish symbolic key for a Gentleman of the King's Bedchamber of Alfonso XIII (1886-1931), of lightly gilded brass and enamel, 4½" overall, with two gold tassels and a brooch pin fitting to the back. GC The "Gentlemen of the Bedchamber" was a class of honorary royal servants who acceded to that class as an honour awarded by the Monarch. At the time of the suppression of this office in 1931 there remained 521 members. £80-120
