Bonaw. 1841-46 Letters and documents concerning the notorious Deputy Postmaster of Bonaw, John Cameron, including 1842 letter posted from Dalmally to Bonaw with the "2" charge crossed out and endorsed "Free per Postmaster"; letters requesting payment of bills, the forwarding of Post Office Orders, or concerning a pass book enclosed in the letter bag from Bonaw in error; 1846 petitions against Cameron alleging the theft of Money Orders which he cashed after forging the recipients signature, the theft of money given to Cameron to purchase a Money Order, the forging of signatures on Cameron's surety as Postmaster; 1847 letter from the G.P.O Solicitor in Edinburgh concerning a further claim that Cameron took money for a Money Order but kept the money and destroyed the order and accompanying letter after posting, etc. An interesting lot.
