Important sporting interest: a 1939 New York Yankees team-signed baseball, including Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Arthur Fletcher, with Joe McCarthy signed to the sweet spot, and an unusual double-signature by Art Jorgens, stamped *Official* American League Ball, William Harridge..., Reach logo, 24 signatures in all, together with The Readers Digest dated March 1942 with the article 'Lou Gehrig's Epic of Courage', by Paul Gallico, and two newspaper cuttings on Arthur Fletcher.

Property of a Lady related to Arthur Fletcher, which can be demonstrated if required. Her parents visited America in 1939 and were given the ball by Arthur Fletcher as related in this diary entry: 'David...Thelma, David and myself went with Simon in his car to St Louis to a baseball game, the Brownies and the Yankees, it was very interesting to watch. Arthur Fletcher was in the game as coach, on the Yankee side, they won! After the game we met him and he gave us a ball signed by all members of the Yankee team.'
