Dunning Esq." in gilt. The rare first edition by William Kitchiner (1775-1827), optician, cook, and best-selling food writer. He travelled around with his 'portable cabinet of taste', which contained his mustards and sauces, and himself created 'Wow-Wow Sauce'. The present work contains one of the earliest recipes for what we now know as 'crisps' ('Potatoes fried in Slices or Shavings').
