This unusually large and well preserved example is characteristic of Worksop chairs that share several distinctive features in their design. These include the very heavily turned three ring legs, seat shape and decorative splat. In addition to Gilling, similar chairs were made in Worksop by the firm of I Allsop & Sons
A good example of large size and fine colour and patina; some movement in back and natural accretion of old dust and grime with a little wear, mainly on arms, legs and stretchers original
