A Sherwood Foresters Derbyshire 2nd Volunteer Battalion other ranks spiked blue cloth helmet, early 20th century, helmet with original silver coloured metal cross piece with spike, rose bosses supporting a leather backed chin strap / chain, to the front is a silver coloured metal King's Crown helmet plate, the centre with regimental badge on a purple velvet field, marked '2nd VOLr BATTn DERBYSHIRE', the interior with leather sweatband, stamped with retailer 'Samuel Brothers London', and a handwritten name possibly 'Gerrard Brunell'?. Right hand side of cork helmet with tear to rim just below boss, light wear to leather trim, chin strap loose and stretched, overall very good.
