A William IV rosewood and parcel gilt Davenport desk in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster, the sliding top section with brass gallery, gilt tooled green leather and Bramah lock, enclosing an interior with two burr amboyna drawers and two faux drawers, the handle to one releasing the ink drawer to right hand side, above a slide to each side and four graduated drawers beneath to the right hand side and opposing faux-drawers, over a brass lattice and silk panelled front, flanked by parcel gilt foliate and reeded pilasters, on gilt gadrooned feet with brass castors, 20½ x 20in. (52 x 50.75cm.), 32in. (81.25cm.) high.
