A mid 20c monocular microscope, the 'Service' model by Watson of Barnet numbered 138077. The black lacquered body has a horseshoe base and nickel plated fittings. The body has a rotating frame for four objectives and a substage condenser and has an electric light source below. The stage has vernier adjustment both horizontally and vertically and focussing is also by vernier adjustment. It is contained in a fitted oak box 37cm tall which contains one extra objective and one alternative eyepiece.
The microscope seems complete and functioning. The lacquerwork is generally good with some slight wear to the stage edges.
