A late Victorian silver tray by William Comyns, London 1898, of rectangular form with gadroon borders, elaborately embossed with birds, dolphins, masks and cherubs in a scrolling floral landscape, vacant shield cartouche to centre, 35.3cm x 25.3cm, weight 15.43ozt
Overall condition is good. No splitting or signs of repair, all appears original. There is quite heavy denting to the central cartouche (see additional images for illustration), and some denting to the border. There is some wear to the detail on the borders, but the detail to the centre is crisp and clear.
