Boer War interest: Queen Victoria's South Africa 1900 Gift Tin which was issued to 3418 Pte Robert Sewell, 2nd Devons. He posted the tin home from Ladysmith to his wife wrapped in a khaki cloth cover. The tin has inside it two bars of the original Rowntrees chocolate and a biscuit in addition to a Boer bullet which struck Pte Sewells belt at the Battle of Colenso in 1899. There is also a Newspaper cutting citing a letter about the tin and contents written by Mr Sewell plus another newspaper cutting with his Obitury.
Tin is in very good condition.
