Large and impressive late 18th century mahogany cased "four train" table clock. The clock has a white painted arched dial with four subsidiary dials two located within the chapter ring for strike/silent and calendar function and two within the arch for regulation and tune indicator. The musical chiming movement, striking on a cone of bells and playing six tunes/airs as listed: Guardian Angles, Black-eyed Susan, Britons strike Home, Duke of York's March, On friendship and God Save The King. The movement having pull repeat features via cords for chiming and hour repeat etc. The case is adorned with gilded and applied decoration in the form of floral and embossed columns with figural terminals the whole resting on four shaped and guided feet. The back plate and bridges are engraved with Adam's style urns and swag designs and the sides of the clock are decorated with vertical pierced and engraved panels.
