Roberts, F. Wheatley R.A. (London: Otto, 1910) and M. Webster, Francis Wheatley (London: Paul Mellon, 1970) Provenance: By repute, given to the present owner's ancestors by Thomas Clark Brettingham Jnr (1822-1882) of Essex, grandson of Clara Maria Pope.
