The following lots are part of the large single owner penknife collection of John Copley Burrows. Born in Chesterfield in 1939, he received his first pocket knife in 1953 from his school to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. This began a lifelong love of knives. He specialised in European knives and part of his collection is now in The History Museum, Sheffield.
Pocket Knives; A. Wragg, Sheffield, stag scales, 10cm closed, 18cm open; Hale Brothers, stag scales, 10cm closed, 17.5cm open and Lockwood Brothers, horn scales, 9cm closed, 16cm open.
