A range of mainly the latter value with examples of multiple and inverted surcharges, missing "DEUX", etc., inc. block of 10. Covers inc. Nov. 1898 cover to Manchester (corner snipped off) with both surcharge types paying the 4c rate for foreign printed matter. Scarce thus. Also Mar. 1900 PPC to germany franked by 2c on 20c orange and Oct. 1898 registered env. to Switzerland with multiple combination franking of 7 stamps. (43 stamps plus 3 cards/covers)
