Japan. Late 1944 Pattern Army Officer's Shin-Gunto and scabbard, hilt and scabbard with blackened iron mounts, sakura motif to collar, plain oval blackened iron tsuba, close bound "battle type" lacquered brown braid to hilt, fitted with scarcer 2 push release buttons (1 in fuchi, 1 in kuchi-gane), blackened cane scabbard, couple of minor knicks to blade, otherwise about extremely fine. This pattern was introduced to conserve the use of brass, an essential war supply now in short supply towards the end of the war. BUYER MUST COLLECT. (See photo)
Dear Sir
Thank you for your interest in this item. I am afraid the binding covers part of the pegs preventing the tang from being easily exposed, so we cannot add further photos.
We do not have appropriate packing for swords, so we cannot pack it for a courier to collect.
