South Georgia German Expedition: 1910-12 Fototipia-Jacobo Peuser of Buenos Aires picture postcard (two punch holes), depicting 'The Deutschland' sent from South Georgia by expedition leader Dr Wilhelm Filchner to Berlin. The card conveying greetings from the expedition and signed on the reverse by Dr Filchner bears Falkland Islands 1904-12 1d tied SOUTH GEORGIA 6 DEC 1911 cds, and red expedition vignette at left tied by four line violet 'Polarschiff Deutschland / Sud Georgien / Grytviken / 10 Dezember 1911 dated cachet. The front bears the signatures of seven other expedition members including Felix Konig, Erich Barkow, Erich Przybyllok, Richard Vahsel, Fritz Heim, Alfred Kling, Superb item, Wharton IB-1.
