A Late 19th Century French eight day, two train, repeating carriage clock in gilded brass and Champleve enamel case, bevelled glass panels to four sides and top. The movement stamped French Make and  E.M. & Co in an oval cartouche (E. Maurice & Co, 75 Rue Charlotte Paris - exhibited 1889) with English lever platform escapement. Stamped 4643 to backplate and baseplate . Strikes Hours and half hour on a blued steel gong. Silvered chapter dial with Arabic numbers recessed circular plaques, central gilded mask, in a gilded brass case of larger than normal proportions. Complete with leather bound travelling case, with glazed viewing panel, original key (also stamped 4643), and spare bevelled glass panel in protective wallet. Height of Clock (excluding handle) 13cm, (with handle raised - 17cm); Width 8.7cm, Depth 8cm.
