RARE NEW SOUTH WALES/SOUTH AUSTRALIA COMBINATION COVER; 16 Mar. 1879 env. (opened out, flap tears) 'Via Brindisi' to Gloucestershire franked NSW 2d DLR tied by '140' rays numeral and S.Australia 8d on 9d Perkins Bacon with '21' barred numeral cancel of Dry Creek Railway TPO. Rear with Wentworth, Railway PO/SA, Adelaide and Wotton-under-Edge d.s. and carried on the Garonne from Adelaide to Suez. Five examples of NSW/South Australia combination frankings recorded by us.
