34th Yorkshire, West Riding Rifle Volunteer Corps (Saddleworth), Victorian Officer helmet plate circa 1878-95.
Exceedingly rare silvered crowned star mounted with laurel sprays and circlet GOD AND FATHERLAND SADDLEWORTH; strung bugle to black velvet centre. Evidence of the back plate having had prior use. Three loops. GC Raised in 1860 at Saddleworth; disbanded in the mid 1890.
