Austrian painter of the 20th century. Studied first at the School of Art in Linz and from 1968 for a year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Lived four years in the U.S. and afterwards in Salzburg and Vienna. Created several posters for the Vienna Donauinselfest. In 1989 he moved to the USA, lives and works in Clearwater in Florida. In Styria, he owns Thalhof Castle in Leoben. Mainly paints portraits using oil painting, such as the portrait of George Washington commissioned by the White House in 1986. Works with Old Master techniques, naturalistic depictions of fairy tales, mythology, atmospheric landscapes, nature motifs and cloud atmospheres from Austria.
