An Antique Mughal Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring,
claw set with a round cabochon Mughal carved sapphire, depicting flowerhead and leaves with carved lattice backing, surrounded by old-cut diamonds, the diamonds totalling approximately 1.00 carats, unmarked mount tests as platinum, size P, 5g
The sapphire is of violetish blue colour and has a large yellow surface reaching fracture, otherwise no chips or losses. The diamonds are quite bright and lively, several are slightly tinted yellow. The mount has general surface wear commensurate with age and use, mainly on the back of the shank. Overall in good condition.
