£100 - £200
An unusual bamboo net frame, circa 1875, designed as twelve poles each approximately 100cm long, some with brass fittings and loops, along with four brass corner fittings, all supported by two cross stretchers with attached guy ropes, within a black painted pine storage box
Note: Most probably either a frame for an early high lawn tennis net or a support for netting be placed at the end of a court. Netting perhaps hung from the metal loops acting as a stop for the balls. There are some early illustrations showing framed nets such as this.
