A platinum black opal and diamond cluster ring, centrally claw set with oval cabochon black opal surrounded by a row of collet set old-cut diamonds, opal measures approx: 9.77mm x 8.44mm x 3.06mm, unmarked mount tests as platinum, setting height 14.9mm, size Q, 3.6g

No damage, all stones present, opal has a slightly uneven polished dip beneath 1 side claw (possibly a re-polished chip), and general surface abrasions which do not detract from the overall very good play of colour exhibiting mostly greens, blues and oranges, the diamonds are relatively bright with a few small internal black spot inclusions only visible through a loupe, general wear to settings particularly on back of shank which is beginning to wear thin, unmarked but tests as platinum
