Royal Air Force RAF Officer's Full Dress Parade Busby Helmet circa 1921-39. A rare example, tailored by Moss Bross of the flying helmet-inspired ‘Busby’ headdress. Black chromed leather skull trimmed with black nutria fur. Plaited gold and pale blue cord festoon to front. Black patent leather chinstrap. The interior with leather sweatband and crimson cotton lining. Please note, plume and badge absent. The skull soft to parts. Full dress was introduced in 1920, the busby followed in 1921 however the badge did not obtain official approval until 26th January 1923. Full dress was discontinued at the outbreak of WW2.
