Property of a lady - a Victorian painted enamel stickpin depicting a bloodhound, signed & dated to reverse 'W. Essex. 1862', the stick pin head 22mm diameter. Footnote - William Essex (1784-1869) was the master of enamel painting in the mid 19th century. He first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1818. He was appointed Enamel-Painter to Princess Augusta of Cambridge, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
