Antique evening bags, early to late 19th century: three different examples in the “en diable” format, the first crocheted in red silk, with silver metal fittings and the addition of a finger ring, the second similar, in mustard silk, but with gold beads between the panels and gold metal bars, chain and finger ring, the third in ruby and dark blue, the fittings in cut steel, with chain and finger ring; together with three small purses with cut steels beads and frames, both fringed; and a cream silk example with a lattice design in cut steel beads, draw string top and fringed (6)

More Information

The first 2 bags appear unused, the third has one tiny hole, the metal frames on the next two are dull and the one with red body is slightly stained and has a different colour repair under one side of the frame. The silk is splitting on the final example.
