Manir Station in Memory of Stalin
11. On March 9, 1953, at 5 p.m., while the funeral procession was taking place in Moscow, a large demonstration organized in memory of Stalin by the inhabitants of Peking took place at Tien An Men Square.
12. Chairman Mao Tse Tung lays a wreath for the leader Stalin.
13. Cu Teh, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Vice President of the Central People's Government, and Commander-in-Chief of the People's Liberation Army, gives a speech in memory of Stalin.

Celebration of National Day in China (1959)
On the occasion of the third celebration of the founding of the People's Republic of China, half a million men and women, shouting triumphant cheers, paraded to Tien An Men (Gate of Heavenly Peace) in the heart of Peking.

Construction of Anchan
Anchan, the main steel center in China, began major construction work in the second half of 1952. Thousands of workers are employed there. When construction is completed, not only will the appearance of the city be changed, but a great step forward will be made in preparing the industry for the benefit of the entire country. The assistance given by the Soviet Union plays a large part in the construction projects of Anchan. Some of the projects have been designed by Soviet specialists, and many of the modern automatic machines come from the Soviet Union. Several Soviet specialists are also directly guiding the work. Their knowledge helps to save time in installing the machines.
1. The workers study the drawings before starting the work, showing great enthusiasm for the construction of this industrialized city. More than a hundred progressive working methods are applied, and work efficiency is constantly improving.
2. A Soviet specialist and his Chinese colleagues check the machines in a new Anchan factory.



The Yangtze River Reservoir
