A smokebox numberplate, 43988, from a Midland Railway 3987 Class 0-6-0 No 3988 built at Derby in 1921, retaining this number in LMS days and becoming BR 43988. At Kentish Town by January 1935, its later sheds included Toton for many years, Trafford Park, Walton, Leicester MR, Kettering and Coalville from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 10 October 1964 and despatched for scrap to George Cohen at Kettering on 14 December 1964.
