George II tortoiseshell pair cased verge pocket watch by C Charleson, London, circa 1755-60, the outer tortoiseshell case with pique studwork, gold plated interior with gilt dial, signed, polished numerals against a matted ground, verge movement, signed back plate and numbered 1375, square pillars, 50mm diameter, together with a cast brass double key

Some losses to the black enamel on the Roman numerals. Some losses to the studwork on the outer case. Surface scratches consistent with age. The inner case has wear to the gilt plating. The watch is ticking when wound.
