EARLY ENGLISH UTILITY BOTTLE. 5.5ins tall. Dark olive green glass, rectangular body, thinner facetted corners - effectively octagonal. An unusual very short neck, double collar lip (pin head nick - decorking?). Cross hinge base, pontilled, extraordinary protruding in manufacture sliver of glass to side of neck - seeped out from cross hinge mould when made. Various hand written David Walker Barker labels, one reads SMALL SIZE UTILITY BOTTLE short narrow neck version, hinge moulded, circa 1820-1825. Another very special example of its type.
