A 17th century rapier, broad blade 33", the shallow fullers showing signs of having had an inscription, the hilt having pierced cup guard, curly down turned quillons, knucklebow with two side guards, flattened spherical pommel, and rectangular section ivory grip carved with a bust in oval medallion. Generally GC (the blade pitted and worn, the hilt pitted). £800-1200
