standing half-length wearing a blue and gold abraded coat, traditionally identified as George Medlycott (1716-41) in the uniform of a Lieutenant in the Marines, in a feigned oval, oil on canvas, 75cm x 62cm, apparently retaining the original giltwood and gesso frame

Provenance: Ven House, Milborne Port and thence by descent.
