A FAMILY GROUP OF THREE GROUPS OF MEDALS, as follows, (a) WWI British War & Victory Medals, both boxed and mint with original ribbons named 145137 Spr C A Binns, Royal Engineers with Cap badge, collar dog and a boxed Order of Oddfellows medal named C A Binns, June 1908 (b) boxed group of 3 WWII medals, with original ribbons un-named as issued, 193945, France and Germany Stars, war medal, box addressed to H A Binns Burton On Trent address with original issue slip, (c)WWI/WWII/OBE group as follows, Merchantile Marine Medal and British War Medal named to James W Binns, the BWM may have been erased and re-named, the merchantile medal is in the small envelope of issue, boxed group of four WWII medals un-named as issued 1939-45, Atlantic, Italy Stars, War Medal and a boxed OBE (civil 2nd type) all attributed to James W Binns, the box of issue for the WWII medals refers to the OBE, also, with the groups of medals is a further box containing ten 'Booth' Steamship Company log books for merchant shipping during WWII where J W Binns was the Captain, various ships (possible WWII supply convoys) a Victorian accounts book, lots of various paper ephemera and a large number of silk souvenier cigarette style cards, flags , emblems, military etc, a small compass boxed, a WWII style silk Escape Map featuring Spain and Portugal and a wall mounted ships wheel type frame with the ship 'kelburn', Greenock on it, a great research project
