£1,000
A Victorian carved and painted wood rocking horse, with remnants of original dapple grey finish, large glass eyes and traces of the original leather tack, on a pine trestle base, 174cm long 145cm high
Overall in well used and somewhat distressed condition, most of the mane is missing but the original brass embossed stud remains at the top as do the same matching bosses to the top of the bridle, remnants of bridle leather remaining, chips to both ears with the left ear having more significant losses, paintwork throughout heavily worn and rubbed down the bare wood in places, most of the saddle now missing, tail looks to be a replacement but may just be cut down, trestle base looks original again heavily worn but with original arm mounts, a reinforcement plank to the back and the holes drilled through the feet, overall still retains lovely character.
