ATTRIBUTED TO SAMUEL PROUT (1783-1852) - 'Wreck of the 'Thames'', an East Indiaman that grounded in Eastbourne Bay in February 1822, and was later re-floated and moved to Gravesend, unsigned, brown ink, watercolour and body colour on paper laid on canvas, 95 x 64.5 cm, glazed and framed in bevelled wooden frame. Provenance: Private collection - acquired by the owner's family circa 1960.
