Provenance: Family collection since at least 1981. Offered at London, Sothebys, January 26th 2005, lot 22 but retained by the family.
This subject records the first visit to Scotland by a reigning monarch since the Jacobite Rebellion. It was intended to heal the old enmities and was of significant historic importance in re-establishing the status of the Monarchy in Scotland.
