A RARE TUDOR POLYCHROME OAK RENAISSANCE PORTRAIT PANEL OF A LADY, ENGLISH, CIRCA 1530. The renaissance portrait panel in two parts, of a high-status lady in French Hood, wearing a heart shaped locket to her neck, set within a circle of laurel leaves and floral quatrefoil corners. Originally a cabinet door, retaining substantial amounts of original polychrome in red, blue, green and gold, 44cm by 45cm Note - All recently identified English portrait panels of Tudor Royalty show the Queen with a heart pendant, it is very likely this panel is a representation of either Margaret of York or one of Henry VIIIs wives.
