A Hizb al-Bahr or Selection of Prayers – Possibly Ottoman or Mughal Origin, Late 16th–17th Century.
A remarkable and timeworn Islamic manuscript, this small-format prayer book contains a selection of devotional supplications (duas) and possibly parts of Hizb al-Bahr or other widely recited liturgical texts. The decorative opening folio with a hand-painted floral motif and marginal gilding points to Ottoman or Mughal craftsmanship.
Approximately 10 x 6.5cm
