Militaria : A WWII Imperial Japanese Army Officer's Shin-Gunto sword , the 27 1/4'' blade with single fuller and bevelled edge . The one - piece metal ito / grip having integral menuki decoration, and terminating with a decorative kashira / pommel . The fuchi / collar with various forging stamps and tsuba / guard with stippled decoration . The saya / scabbard having leather sageo / cord and traces of original olive finish . Serial number 65455 stamped to the blade and scabbard . 38 1/2'' long overall .
