A very heavy antique pewter jewellery box made by Bramah London, with copper fittings. Fitted with a heavy duty lock for extra security. Interior is lined with a plush blue satin. Decorated with copper fittings in the form of a chest's reinforcements, with scalloped handles to sides and curvilinear octagonal motif to top.
Bramah London were renowned for their locks and security mechanisms, creating the "challenge lock" which remained unpickable for 60 years.
