A VERY FINE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH SILVER ‘MARRIAGE’ SPOON, the bowl of the spoon is decorated with a scene showing a couple within garden, surrounded by a rim of beads, the stem is made up of intertwined rope and the tip of the handle is very ornate; showing a figure of a man playing a wind instrument seated on a fence surrounded by goats; to the reverse is the back of the musician which is a nice touch. Hallmarks; there is a Bigorne mark to the bowl visible on both sides; possibly Paris. There is a further mark of a crown over what may be a fleur de lys, and a separate clear letter ‘M’. The spoon weighs: 2ozt and is in very good condition/excellent condition. Dimensions: 22cm long.
