Victorian General Officers Mameluke Sword by Widdowson of London.
A very good quality, early Victorian example, the curved blade with etched decoration of a crowned reversed VR cypher, crossed baton and sword. Forte with cutler's details of "Widdowson and Veale" sword cutlers to HRH Prince Albert. The hilt with rich fire gilt crossguard. Fire gilt decoration is repeated to the leather and gilt mounted scabbard. The top mount again with cutler's details. Blade clean, gilt bright.
