Two original picture postcards written by Major Patrick "Pat" Reid, one to his mother after arriving in neutral Switzerland to safety during WW2, after his successful escape from Colditz Oflag IVc and the other to his aunt.
Pat Reid had escaped Colditz and made it across the border into Switzerland on 20th October 1942. He wrote these picture postcards from Bern to his wife sometime late in 1942 prior to serving as an Assistant Military Attaché in Bern from 9 March 1943 until early 1946 where he remained for the duration of the war.
