Attributable 1897 Pattern Royal Engineers Officer's Sword


32 3/4 inch, dumbbell blade with central fuller.  Etched winged lightening bolts "Royal Engineers" motif.  Kings crown royal crest and GRV cypher.  Foliage panes and panel "H.C.W. N Coy CLPR Aug 1914 to June 1917".  Back edge numbered "02551".  Nickel plated foliage scroll guard with Kings crown GRV cypher.  Stepped pommel and checkered backstrap.  Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding.  Contained in its brown leather covered field scabbard with leather sword frog.
