Dan Welldon, Roman Bridge, Cordoba, Spain, 2002, 1/25, mounted silver gelatin print, 60cm x 60cm overall, unframed

This picture was taken during the Fiesta of Nuestra Señora de la Salud (Our Lady of Health) which takes place each May during which the city is filled with horse drawn carriages, flamenco dresses, sevillana music and lots of wine and food. A truly wonderful spectacle! This is a lith print (also known as kodalith) printed by the photographer on Japanese manufactured Oriental Seagull paper. Lith printing uses a chemical developer which exponentially accelerates the development process time making each print unique and produces contrasty prints with gritty and harsh shadows which lend a very atmospheric quality to each print.

'I started my photographic career some 25 years ago in Scotland. I still love photographing a wide variety of subjects - mainly people (from actors to corporate and musicians) but also travel and architecture'
