A very exciting antique original oil on canvas painting showing a portrait of a finely dressed gentleman gazing inquisitively at the viewer. Very well observed, clearly painted by a highly trained hand. Signed indistinctly bottom left, potentially a renowned portrait artist. Verso features a previous exhibition sticker and hand written inscription in French reading "Appartient a D. I. V. Rees London." Along with sticker for James Bourlet Nassau Street. Some damage in the form of cuts to canvas, could be restored to a high standard.
