WW1 Distinguished Conduct Medal and 1914-15 Star trio to 61994 Cpl G. Brown R.E. (Cpl-A.Sjt on DCM, Spr on Star) edge bruises to DCM, nearly very fine to good very fine, mounted in glass fronted display case with 2 shoulder titles and cap badge. George Brown's DCM was announced in the London Gazette dated 3rd September 1917 serving with 87th Field Coy "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He was ordered to blow up a pumping engine and borehole. Owing to a defect in the fuse the charges did not explode. He waited twenty minutes and then returned under heavy shell and machine-gun fire, put in a fresh fuse, and successfully completed the demolition when the enemy were close on the borehole."
With 7 copied pages of service record, LGs and MIC, he attested 1/2/15, landed France 30/5/15, from Wigan. GLASS WILL NOT BE POSTED. (R)
